Common Gateway Updates
The following updates apply to both Classic Gateway and NextGen Gateway.
Enhancements
Juniper Device Support
Added the capability to retrieve physical components and software module information for Juniper devices using Juniper MIB OIDs when generic Entity OIDs are unavailable during SNMP discovery. This ensures accurate discovery of device components even in the absence of standard OIDs.
VMware Virtual Machine Enhancements
- Added support for the VM Tools version attribute for VMware virtual machines, allowing users to track and monitor the version of VMware tools running on their virtual machines.
- Added support for CPU hardware information on VMware virtual machines, including Processor Name, Max Clock Speed, and Number of Cores, offering detailed insights into the virtual machine’s CPU resources.
SD-WAN Configuration for Cisco Devices
Enabled support to display SD-WAN configuration as startup configuration for devices with OS type XE-IOS and models starting with ISR4 or the ISR 4 series.
Note
If the startup configuration retrieval fails, an alert will be shown. In cases where SD-WAN is not configured on these devices, users should disable the “startup configuration” option in the Network Configuration Backup job to retrieve the running configuration instead.Network Card Details
Introduced support to display the ifMtu attribute value in the network card details for resources discovered through SNMP.
Discovery Enhancements
Introduced an Exclude IPs option in SSH, SNMP, and WMI discovery, allowing users to exclude specific IPs during discovery.
VMware Event and Alarm Customization
Added support for creating custom VMware events and alarms that contain special characters such as (-, @, $, #, &, %) in the event or alarm names.
- For example, for an alarm like VM-HIGH-CPU-1HR, create the alarm metric in OpsRamp as vmware_vcenter_alarm_VM_HIGH_CPU_1HR.
- For an event like VM-HIGH-MEMORY-1HR, create the event metric in OpsRamp as VM_HIGH_MEMORY_1HR.
Bug Fixes
- The latest snapshot value will now only be displayed if either an alert or graph is enabled. This ensures that users only see relevant data for active monitoring.
- Added a bug fix to generate a VMware Auth alert for all failure cases, such as when the vCenter is not reachable from the gateway or when credentials are not working.
- Added a bug fix to display more than 2000 device discovery entries in the View Logs for the SNMP app
